Operation & Maintenance
Operation and Maintenance (O&M) means the functions, duties and Labour associated with daily operations and normal repairs, replacement of parts and structural components, and other activities needed to preserve an asset so that it continues to provide acceptable services and achieves its expected life.
B&I Engineering being innovative entity and is quite flexible in acquiring and adapting new roles. In September, 2019 B&I Engineering was presented with an opportunity to take responsibility of O&M outsourcing of 200 WASA Lahore tube wells. It was pilot project of WASA and novel idea. Due to skilful handling of the project, B&I was also entrusted by KSB to manage additional 400 WASA tube wells, 150 Waste Water Disposal Station on their behalf and 145 Water Filtration Plants.
Over the period B&I Engineering has developed its human resource and its technical expertise. Currently Company boasts of employing over 150 Technical staff (Electrical, Mechanical & Civil), supported by well-equipped Workshop as well. The O&M management of Disposal Station gave opportunity to the Company to develop its own in house Human Resource to handle huge Capacity Pumps, Motors and Electric Generators.
O&M Tube Wells, Waste/Storm Water Disposal Station.
This assignment requires us to maintain Electric Transformers, Electric Panel Board, Electric Motor, Electric Generators, Indoor Electrification of Pump room, Electromagnetic/ Analogue Flow meter, Delivery Pipes, Colum Pipes, Pump and Bowl Assembly and minor civil works.
Broadly speaking this job is divided in two separate heads that is Mechanical and Electric. We have around 200 Technical Staff (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil & Electronic) to manage this project.
Transformer team
We have at our disposal (in house team) to recover faulty transformers and repair them at our laboratory and later reinstall them. Transformers capacity and power ranges from 100 to 1500 KVA.
Electric Panels
Expert Electric Team members are responsible to maintain and repair over 1000 Electric Panels. We boast of having a team, who are experts in trouble shooting in a shortest possible time period. Electric panel capacity ranges from 75 to 300 Kw. We also have the services of technical experts, who can manufacture or assemble good quality Panels as well.
Electric Motors
We have full furnished repairs shop to repair and maintain Electric motors. Electric motors capacity ranges from 75 to 300 Kw. We also have handy electric motor mobile team for the on the spot trouble shooting.
Mechanical Break-down Team
We have top Mechanical Technicians at our disposal to tackle any sort of Mechanical Problem at site. Pumps Capacity ranges from a Small Size to 71 Cusecs Pump.
Work Shop Mechanical and Electrical
We have well equipped Mechanical & Electrical Workshop, which is managed by expert professionals. Our Expert Mechanics well trained to tackle all sorts of Mechanical & Electrical problems that may arise in the Pumps and Motors.
Electric Generator Team
We boast of one of best in house Generator team in Lahore. Our team can handle all sorts and brands of Electric Generators. Our Electric Generators team comprises of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Technicians. Currently our job of Disposal Station O&M project is to maintain and operate Generators of 100 TO 1500kva capacity.
O&M OF FILTRARION PLANTS
We were tasked by KSB on their behalf to maintain and operate 145Nos of Water Filtration plants with Lahore WASA City Jurisdictions. We were required to do the following jobs

- Electrical Repairs
- Electric Panel maintenance
- Water testing from PCSIR
- Cholrination of water
- Mechanical Works of Pumps and Motors
